When Brian Wallach and Sandra Abrevaya were diagnosed with ALS, they sought not only the best care but also the most cutting-edge treatments like millions of others living with neurodegenerative disease. Their mission became our mission: to transform neurodegenerative diseases into manageable, chronic conditions. Every part of Synapticure’s care model is designed with this goal in mind. From early diagnosis to clinical trial support, we’re committed to advancing research that has the potential to deliver life-changing therapies.
Traditionally, patients see their clinical teams every six months in a multidisciplinary setting, if access is even feasible. While these visits are essential in assessing progression and offering interventions to maintain quality of life, they often leave individuals and loved ones on their own to navigate promising clinical trials and early-stage research.

Improving Clinical Studies and Trials
Clinical trials offer hope to patients by giving them access to cutting-edge therapies that have the potential to be disease altering. Synapticure has integrated these trials directly into our care model. We do this through a number of coordinated steps:
- Knowledge of the Whole Landscape: Our care team works hand-in-hand with patients, discussing their priorities, reviewing the latest research, and ensuring they have access to the right treatments. - Complete Clinical Testing: Trials require complete diagnostic and prognostic testing to enroll — often including genetic, molecular, and biomarker information. We ensure patients can access these tests and can guide patients toward trials that are more tailored to their personal needs.
- Site Partnership: Synapticure has developed the ability to offer EAPs and directly integrate into clinical trials in all 50 States, enabling faster enrollment and ongoing monitoring. While this capability is nascent, we’re excited to expand this and help trials fill faster at partner sites.

The most promising treatments often emerge from the deepest wells of data, and Synapticure is building the most extensive data sets on neurodegenerative diseases. This data is core to our care model - it helps ensure best practices for patients and caregivers based on their unique disease and needs, and can help predict risks for patients. By collecting detailed genetic, molecular, and clinical information from those currently living with neurodegenerative conditions, we also are creating a data resource that researchers can use to accelerate breakthroughs.
